The Church
The Priory has a regular congregation of about 35-50 people who gather together for services most Sundays. For special services, christenings and funerals the number often swells considerably. At many services we are joined by visitors to the area and by people 'walking the Wall'. It is always a great pleasure to welcome visitors to the Priory. For details of service click here. The parish is part of the Deanery of Brampton and at times the Priory hosts deanery-wide services, notably on Good Fridays.

The church is largely uncluttered and unadorned, allowing its medieval character to clearly come through in its elegant simplicity. The ruins of the chancel, seen through the lancet windows that pierce the east end, provide a spectacular backdrop to services - particularly on those days when the sun streams through them.

The Priory has an atmosphere that many people are touched by and comment on. Perhaps the most frequent of the many comments in the visitors' book are "peaceful", "beautiful"

The acoustics of the church not only make it a superb venue for musical events, but also somehow enhance our hymn singing efforts, helped, of course, by a great choir (and particularly when the Vicar chooses hymns that we all know and love).
